Decision Making

For many of us the decision making process is more difficult than the decision itself. With this I mean that the process is long, reflective and sometimes it blocks us. On the other hand, a decision is action, resolution and progress.

How do we make the process simple and effective?

Many times we over analyze the variables involved in the process. That is: we want to make the best decision (without knowing what this means), we want the lower cost (financially, emotionally or spiritually), and we do not want to be wrong.

We are afraid of losing something that we do not know well what it is, we do not want to regret it, and we want this decision to be definitive.

It is difficult to evaluate a future that we are not fully conscious of. It is even more difficult to evaluate results without having them. Since we do not have the clarity regarding what is determinant in life, then we do not know well what terrain we are walking into.

Imagine that you are walking blindly on a path you have never been on.

The decision-making is a process not a result. Therefore in order to make the decisions we need to, we have to look for ways of deciding in complete consciousness and full presence.

A noble way of doing it is to consider your values that drive your life, those that are at the core of who you are. Ask yourself what makes your life worth living; what keeps you connected, no just to yourself but also with the people you love in your life.

Our decisions help us define who we are and how we stand in life. When we are coherent in our decisions, when it feels good in the body, then we are on the path we want.

This doesn’t mean that we are not afraid or insecure, it only means that the road to action, resolution and progress, speaks to the world of the person that you are.
